In our Practice, we strive for excellence through high-quality patient care and satisfaction. We don’t just deal with bones or muscles, or backs and necks. In fact, Osteopathy covers a huge range of ailments throughout the whole body. It is a system of diagnosis and treatment primarily concerned with mechanical problems of the body, principally within the neuromusculoskeletal system, ligaments, tendons, joints, muscles, and nerves. In short, if it hurts when you move then it is likely that you will benefit from an osteopathic treatment. We provide high quality, evidence-based patient care.
What is Osteopathy and is it regulated by law?
Osteopathy is a primary care profession focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders and the effects of these conditions on patient's general health. Osteopaths, like doctors and dentists, are primary healthcare practitioners. Osteopathy covers a wide range of physical ailments. We also pride ourselves on our holistic approach integrating the emotional side of pain with various techniques to manage anxiety and emotional distress caused by chronic pain.
Osteopathy is regulated by statute and the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). Anyone not registered may not call themselves an Osteopath. It is a criminal offense to do so. Osteopaths are required to renew their registration annually, including a mandatory amount of time spent on continual professional development activities. Jane is a highly skilled in all aspects of Osteopathy, including the Epley Manoeuvre, specialises in Neuromuscular disorders and is also trained in the fitting of orthotics. Jane focuses on many different aspects of health and wellbeing with her patients.
